About Me

Welcome to my blog! The purpose for this blog is to document and share my life experiences and my culture.

Now, I know what you’re thinking–what kind of name is benawhat? Well, the idea came to me one day when I was introducing myself to someone. “Bena…what?” she said; she couldn’t quite get my name and that’s when I knew. She felt terrible because she couldn’t pronounce my name, but I was smiling from ear to ear. I finally found a name for my blog! Yay!

Some people say my name effortlessly, others it takes them a try or two ^_^ Regardless, just like how some are unsure of the pronunciation, I feel that some are unsure of my culture as well. That is one of the main reasons for this blog. I want to share my culture and show you the beauty of it; see it and appreciate it the way I see it.

Thank you and Enjoy!

  1. I’m curious what culture and background you come from that you plan to share with us, as you’ve not said what it is yet as far as I can see.

Thanks for liking one of my posts. I like the picture of the flowers you found for one of your posts.

  2. Thanks Marsha, and yes I am planning on doing a post about my background; I want it to be a surprise ^_^ I am in the middle of writing 2 other posts and the third will hopefully be about my background, stick around!

  3. Hi Bena, thank you for stopping by my blog and the follow. I really enjoyed reading about your culture…It’s always great to learn about cultures different from your own. :)

    • Hi Shirsha, I love your blog and your beautiful photographs. I’m glad you enjoyed my posts. I thought since there aren’t many people talking about the Afghan culture, then why not? :)

  4. I’m looking forward to having a read of your blog, Bena. I read Khaled Hosseini’s books and was so intregued by Afghanistan’s history and culture, it’ll be an interesting blog for me :)
